They're up, we have less competitors, that means less battles, so go battle em!!

You can still battle the old battles, in fact, you should try to get those in as soon as possible, as at the end of the season your record will be determined from your battles with all of the members still in the league.
The blank spaces in the schedules are matches from people who dropped out? So they count as a bye right? Say someone did all of their matches from match 1-6 and have 2 byes this round for a total of 7 matches. 2 of my matches from matches 1-6 have dropped out, so they count as byes and I have 2 matches from matches 7-9 and one bye. My total is 6 matches maximum where someone else's will be 7, how does that work out exactly?

I think all will balance out when the league finishes, and everyone gets an opportunity to battle someone else.

Yep, at the end of the season they will all be equal since the people left will have all battled everyone else.
