September 08 Pokefarm tournament

Hey everyone!

I have recently aquired the title of tournament director. Basicly all I have to do is run all the official pokefarm tournaments. I will be coming up with unique tourneys that will really make you think about your strategy and the pokemon you use. Or I might just have a simple tourney for those not intrested in gimicky ideas. xP

This month will be the Water type tournament. Everyone will have untill monday the 22nd to come up with 4 water types to compete in this. The way the tourney will run depends on the # of entrants. If we get an odd number or a number that cannot be split into a bracket, then I will just have everyone face eachother seperately and the person with the most wins is champ.

-auto lvl50
-Duel types are allowed. water/flying for example.
-Pokes do not have to be bred by you
-I will be sending reminder pm's to all entrants(not really a rule but w/e xD)
-Legends are allowed
-Ubers are banned

-Only one of the following water type per team

What about Hidden Power, will that be allowed??? I think the only water pokemon i might use that has Hidden Power doesn't have hidden power grass/electric, but i'm not sure.

EDIT: I feel like it's a little unfair to allow the bulky guys such as swampert when you can't pick on it's 4x grass weakness. I am going to try and find diverse movepools for my water types though. I guess i'll have to live with it.

Me too, but I think he means the fact that you can't use super effective attacks and stuff. And with water vs water matches, the bread and butter Waterfall/Surf + Ice Beam/Ice Fang combo is totally useless. The gimmick is the twist, you can't battle how you normally would.

Exactly, I would have to recalculate my EV's and movesets so that I can handle most good water pokemon. I would join if this were a shoddy tournament, but since its over WiFi I'm not really interested in it since I would have to make brand new pokemon just for it =p

Can we be assured there will be no rule changes from here on out. If i decide to breed anything I don't want it to be rendered useless by a new rule.

I mean, you'll only have your team on shoddy
and if you grow to like them,
you won't have them.
Also, if you enter this tournament you should
know what you're in for. Just make sure you are ready to follow

Thats why you guys have untill the 22nd to build 4 pokes. And since its lvl50 wifi IV's dont matter as much.

@Seth-The rules look solid right now. The only thing that might change is the addition of a shiny pokemon prize. That probably wont happen though.

Thats why I banned water/electric with the exception of hidden power. If I dident then like Revelp said, every team would be...

A tournament with no variety is boring. Thats why I also limit how many of the really strong pokes can be in a team.

I think (and hope) that those aren't allowed. They are electric and grass after all.

My first tornament also jaws so I'm just as excited as you. Of course, one thing I don't get is how are the wins and losses recorded and stuff? Not saying anyone would do this...but what IF there is a disagreement about who won and who lost. Like someone lies about winning when they really lost. How are those things taken care of?

In general I think most people here are honest. Since WCN is the Tournament Director, he will be the one to notify if there are any disputes or issues.

Ohh yeah...that's true too. Forgot about all this breeding stuff, but then I've been at it since I first heard about the torny >.< The other hard decision is the actual pokes to use. At the same time I want strong pokes to win. On the other hand, I don't want to just use whatever everyone else may be using repeatedly. I kind of want to be unique in a way..

Phione, is it a legal pokemon? Its sort of a Rotom of the water types. Not neccessary a legendary due to it is able to pop out of an egg. Just hard to find a manaphy with nice stats..

i think it is legal. if you have a great Ditto, you might get a good IV phione. But it will not learn Heartswap. that's too bad :(

Have any definate changes been made do the "no more than one of the following" list? I'm particurlary intereseted in knowing if vaproeon is now in that list.

I'm pretty sure Yawn is still in. Yawn doesn't violate the sleep clause the first time it works, but it is just common sense not to use it again if an opposing pokemon is already asleep.

As much as this seems anti climactic, I really like the no mercy get as many wins as possible by this date style. It's pretty cool.

So do battles ON 9/30 not count or something? I do not understand, WCN states that the battles must be done by 9/30, which is today. They were battles still do be done, I do not understand why the tournament would be closed early, My battle with Cisco would have been done yesterday had it not been for his wifi connection.
