I recently started writing a story of Rayna's pokemon journey. (Rayna is my character's name on diamond.) I was wondering if people would be interested in reading it. Maybe I'll just type the beginning and see the feedback I get from it. I think I'll do that but I'll have to put it up tomorrow because I've pretty much used up today's time already. So let me know what you think about a pokemon story. And PM me if you have ideas about what should happen.

Here's the character's profile:
Name: Rayna
Age: 16 (that will come up in the story)
Beginning pokemon: Vulpix (the reason for this will come up as well)
Main type: fire (what else would you expect from firemaster?)

What do you think?

I think that you should write and post more. :-D

I like having Vulpix as the starter. Very cool. And I'm sure you'll have plenty of fun and interesting to read about. So just jump right in and do it. You never know what will become of it until you try.

Thanks for the feedback! And if you want to read it.....here goes the first chapter! All chapter titles are subject to change and there is no current title of this so just bear with me.

Chapter 1- Let Our Journey Begin
A warm tounge came accross my cheeck as I slowly brought myself out of my sleeping state.
"Good morning, Pix," I said to my foxlike Vulpix.
Her ears perked up and she jumped off my bed and out into the hallway. She let out a couple of barks. Then I heard footsteps.
Satisfied with her work, Vulpix jumped back onto my bed and stood on my stomach where she licked my face excitedly.
"Okay, okay!" I said giggling. "I love you, too, Pix."
The Vulpix stopped licking my face and stepped to the side so she could lay next to me.
Mom was to my room by then and she started in on my birthday wishes, for today was my sixteenth birthday.
"Happy birthday, Rayna!" she said excitedly. "You start your own adventure today."
"Iknow and I'm so ready! Can I go know?" I say with just as much- if not more- excitement as Mom.
"Oh no, dear! Not yet. You haven't had your birthday celebration yet!" she countered. "You don't have everything yet."
"Yes," Dad agreed. I hadn't seen him come in, but he must have been behind Mom. "So why don't you put on some regular clothes and come out into the living room when you're ready."
"Okay, I'll be out soon," I promised.
They left then and it was just Pix and me.
"Are you ready too, Pix?"
She nodded and took her battle stance.
Giggling, I stepped into my walk-in closet. I switched into my outfit of choice for this journey which I had waited my whole life for. This consisted of a plain black t-shirt and my red flare jeans. Red was to signify that I was to be a fire trainer and maybe one day even a fire master. Sure, I would catch all kinds but fire would be the main one.
I step out into my room.
"What do you think?" I ask Pix.
She barks twice and smiles.
"I take it that you like it."
I stepped in front of my mirror to look at myself. My grey eyes sparkled and my burnt red hair falls just past my shoulders with some layers. I decideto pull it back into low pig tails and hang them in front of my shoulders. The shorter layers come just past my ears so I just let them be.
"Do I look ready for a long and exciting journey?"
She barks and jumps down from my bed. She leads the way to the living room where Mom and Dad stand with breakfast. Breakfast consists of pancakes, eggs and bacon-my favorite. Pix goes to her bowl for her oran berries.
As Pix and I ate Mom and Dad started to present me with my gifts for my journey.
First, Dad presented me with my very own Pokedex.
"This," he started. "is a completed Pokedex. It has 493 pokemon recorded. Including every legenday known to this date. If more pokemon are discovered, it is up to you as the new owner of this Dex to catch that pokemon, thus keeping this complete."
"And," Mom added, "it is also your identification."
She then presents me with a bag of my very own. Although instead of the usual brownish color, Mom had styled it to my taste. It was now a bright red color that match my jeans almost perfectly.
"Wow!" I exclaimed. "It looks so cool!"
As I admired her work, she continued.
"Your father and I have filled it with items to get you started on your journey, along with some money to get you started. By the time you get to the next town, you will know your own battle style and which items to stock up on."
"Thanks!" I exclaimed, looking through it.
"The bag has some new features." Dad informed me. "The Berry Pouch, for instance, is now digital. When you want one, you just type the numer on this keypad and it pops up."
"What else?" I ask, almost jumping out of my seat.
Mom continued. "The TM/HM case is stocked with the eight HM's. You must obtain the TM's on your own."
"And, finally," Dad said, "six empty pokeballs for your belt. Fill them at your will but remember that only six can travel with you at a time. The seventh will automatically be sent to th PC storage system that I created all those years ago."
I put five of the pokeballs on my belt securely. The sixth, I held in my hand. I glanced at my parents who both smiled. Dad nodded and Mom said, "It's time."

Sorry to cut off at a bad spot but
1 Its the end of the chapter and
2 My time is up for today.
If you didn't pick up on the reference...Rayna's dad is Bill who created the storage system on the PC. I'll be writing more tomorrow if I get on so don't worry. And trust me...I write in this story any chance I get at school so I'm pretty far into and will only keep progressing. Any comments can go through PMs now that I've started writing. I'd like to keep this as clutter free as I could, so thanks for your help.
Later!!!:)

Okay. You've all been waiting long enough. Sorry to leave you hanging at a spot like that but I forgot I had something going on Friday. Funny thing actually...I left home for school at like 7am and didn't get home until after 10pm so I really had no time to be on the computer. Well now I do so here it goes. The much anticipated second chapter!

Chapter 2- The Last Two Gifts
I stood up and accross from Pix.
"You ready?" I asked her, emotions of nervous and excitement combined in my voice. She took her battle stance. The moment I had waited for my entire life was now here.
She lept into the air.
"Pokeball, GO!" I threw the pokeball into the air. It opened and a red beam came out of the empty ball. Vulpix was beamed in.
The ball fell to my hands. I waited for it to stop shaking. The light of the pokeball turned off.
"Alright!" I exclaimed. "Vulpix! Come on out!"
Vulpix was beamed back out. She jumped into my arms and I hugged her tight.
My parents were appauding. I turned to them with Vulpix in my arms.
"Never forget that feeling you just felt," Mom said.
"Your journey starts here and now," Dad said.
"But no matter how far you go, you can always come home whenever you would like."
"Mom!" I whined a little. "I'll be fine."
"And I'm sure but if you're in the area stop by alright?"
"Okay," I sighed.
"One last thing," Mom said, going into the other room.
She came back with a long , wide, but skinny box. "This," she said, "I made especially for you and your chosen trainer type.
Vulpix jumped to the ground as I opened the box and pulled out something that made my mouth drop.
It was a long sweater jacket which was black in color. Along the bottom were very real-looking flames with sparks coming off of them. The style was very similar to Cynthia's trademark jacket. Cynthia was the current Champian of the Sinnoh Region. Mom, on the other hand, was the current Champian of Kanto. I wasn't sure who was the current Champian of Hoenn but I was going to beat all of them and claim total victory, one day.
"It's beautiful," I say in awe.
"Try it on," Mom insisted. I slipped it on and it was a perfect fit.
"Oh, Mom, thank you!" I exclaimed, giving her a giant hug. Then I moved over to hug Dad. "You guys are the best."
"Now it's you're tiime to shine, Rayna," Dad said. "Make us proud."

Well I hope you all liked this chapter. It isn't very long but I think the next one should be a bit longer. Keep the feedback coming-through PM's please. I like hearing what you have to say about the story. Even if you don't like something, let me know. I don't mind. Questions, too; I'll be glad to answer any questions you have. Oh and just so you know. Rayna's mom is supposed to be the girl character in Crystal. It was my first game so I thought I would incorperate it here since I beat that game so many times. So yeah, she beat Lance in that version. Stay tuned fo the next chapter!

Thanks everyone for the feedback but if you could, next time PM me. I don't want it to get too cluttered around the story. Thanks for the help with that. Now on to the fun stuff! *drumroll* The third chapter!!! *the crowd goes wild!* hehe I just couldn't help myself. I hope you all enjoy this chapter as much as the last ones.

Chapter 3- A Stop by Grandpa's and On
After many tearful goodbye's, I was on my way. Off on a big adventure, the biggest of my life.
But I didn't get very far.
Professor Oak, or as I like to call him- Grandpa, came out to congradulate me.
"Off on your journey, I see," he says when Im within earshot.
"Sixteen, today," I responded excitedly.
"Yes I know, and may I say that you look like fire master already."
Vulpix barked cutely at my feet.
"Ah, hello, Pix," Grandpa said scratching her head. "We don't want to forget you, do we?"
He then turned to me again.
"You two make a lovely pair and your friendship alone will take you far."
"Thanks, Grandpa," I responded.
"I'm sure you're eagar to get on with our journey and I don't mean to take up your time but I have a gift for you."
And with that he pulled a red PokeTech from his jacket pocket.
My eyes lit up. I've never had one of my own.
"You will find that it has many useful applications," Grandpa informed me, "but it does not have all known. You will have be able to get those yourself. I think you will like the third application very much. Why don't you tr it out now?"
I change it so that the third application is showing on the screen. There are the numbers 0-9 in rows of three much like a telephone.
"Try hitting 313," Grandpa suggests.
I push the numbers and wait a few seconds. Then Mom's face replaces the numbers as a video chat.
"Hi, honey!" Mom says. "I see you've gotten Grandpa's gift."
I look at Grandpa, disbelieving.
He nods and I look back to Mom.
"It's the newest PokeTech application," she says. "Isn't it wonderful?"
"Yeah, it is," I say.
"I won't hold you up any more unless you want me to."
"No, that's alright.
"Call anytime," Mom says in her motherly way.
"Okay."
"Good luck and we love you."
Thanks and I love you too."
Mom's face is replaced by the numbers again.
I look back to Grandpa.
"Use it as often as you need to. Here's a list of some useful and important numbers." He pulls a piece of paper out of his pocket. I took it and looked at the numbers on it.
Mom and Dad were listed first. They each had seperate numbers. Grandpa was next. Then some names I didn't know were after his.
"Grandpa, who are these people?" I pointed to the names Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny.
"Well there is a Nurse Joy in each PokeCenter, you know, where they heal your pokemon.
I nodded. Mom had talked about those a couple times.
"There is an Officer Jenny in each town to keep the peace and to watch out for trouble makers. The numbers I gave you will take you to the central person. They can then transfer you to the one you need from there. They will be very helpful along your way."
"Thank you, Grandpa!" I said wrapping him in a great big hug.
"Your welcome, Rayna," he said returning the hug. "You keep her safe now, Vulpix." He bent down to scratch her head again.
"I think we better go now," I said. "I want to get through the forest before nightfall."
"Don't rush. Vulpix can light the way for you if you need her to. You'll want a grass, bug or water type pokemon for the first gym."
"I know. Mom and Dad have been teaching me for as long as I can remember."
Which was true. They taught me all the basics of pokemon battle and travel- and then some.
"Just reminding you." He smiled. "Now go on! I don't want to hold you up any more."
So with another hug, Vulpix and I were on our way. I waved to the other neighbors that were out to see me off.
When I reached the edge of town, I turned around one last time knowing that I wouldn't be back for awhile. Since I had lived here my entire life, there were so many memories in this little town, like the day I first met Vulpix.

Okay, so that's chapter 3 in its entirety. Sorry if you read it when it wasn't finished. Remember to keep any posts in the forms of PM's. Also, if PokeTech is not what the watch like things are in Diamond and Pearl could someone let me know (via PM) so that I could change it. Thanks and stay tuned for chapter 4!

Hey readers!!! I'm back with another chapter! Finally, I'm sure you're all thinking! Well me too! We've had a hectic schedule lately so I didn't get much time for the computer OR my new drumset...that's a story for another time though. Anyway I'm sure you've waited long enough so I'l cut the chit-chat. Just so you all know (and aren't confused) this chapter is mainly a flashbcak to when Pix and Rayna first met. So now here goes the next chapter.

Chapter 4- Back in the Day
I was sitting in my room studying the type match-ups that I had just learned. I was ten at the time.
"Okay so fire is strong to grass, water is strong to fire, and grass is strong to fire. That's basic everyone knows that." I was speaking out loud but no one else was around. I continued on with other match-ups. "Electric is strong to water. Rock is weak to grass, bug and water but strong to normal and some others."
I sighed; I was exhausted. I glanced out the window. The sun was shining down on the town but I was stuck inside. I looked from the window to my work then back to the window. This time, though, there was a little Vulpix with her paws on the window sill. She looked longingly in to me.
I perked right up. I almost ran to the window to open it. The Vulpix jumped in. I started scracting behiind her ears and petting her back.
"Are you lost?" I asked her. She tilted her head to the side a little in a way to respond but I didn't know what that meant. "Hmm, I don't see a collar or anything."
I ran to the doorway, the Vulpix at my heels.
"Mom come quick!" I shouted into the living room. "She'll know what to do I told the Vulpix. I scratched behind her ears again; she seemed to like that.
"What is it? Mom asked, but when she got to my doorway she knew. "Oh my! How did it get in here?"
"She was looking in the window so I opened it and she hopped in," I answered inocently. "Can we keep her?"
Mom lowed herself to the ground. Vulpix walked to her carefully.
"I don't know, dear. Someone might be looking for her." Mom scratched her head and I saw a smile form on both of their faces.
"Grandpa would know right?"
"Yes but he's out of town for a convention until the end of the week."
"We can hang flyers until then and then ask him when he gets back."
"And only the real owner can call her back to her pokeball. Good thinking," she ruffled my hair a bit. "You've been studying."
So we put up signs around town and when Grandpa got back and claimed that she was wild, Mom said we could keep her.
Since then, we have bonded, formed our own understanding of each other and became best friends. It was that fateful encounter that made me choose to be a fire trainer.
I turned to Vulpix now.
"You ready?"

Okay so that's chapter 4. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope this gives you an insight to their friendship and her reasoning to become a fire trainer. Again send feeback and/or questions via PM's and I will do my best to answer them as quickly as possible. I'm sorry to report that you may have a bit of waiting for the next chapter. But I'm sure you'll understand when you read it. Currently this chapter is not finished but introduces 2 new characters into the story. So be ready for that surprise. The next story might actually have some action too instead of just background stuff. The story starts to take form in this next one and it tends to pick up pace a bit. Now I'm going to end with that before I leak too much.:) Hope to hear from you guys that are reading this!

Okay its been long enough! Here's chapter 5 with no more delay!!!

Chapter 5- The Wonders of the Forest
We leave the town and head down Route One towards Viridian Forest. The Route was a short one and lead through Viridian City before it ended at the forest's opening. It would only take a few minutes to get to the forest if I didn't make any stops before it; and I would probably be alright without stopping at the PokeMart based on what Mom and Dad started me off with.
The route was mostly quiet. Since there weren't any houses, we just had to worry about pokemon. We walked quietly until we started to see the town; then we broke into an excited run.
The town was busier than I expected it to be. We only stopped at the edge of town because there was a huge crowd.
"Vulpix, return," I whispered. She was beamed back into her pokeball. "Sorry but I don't want to get separated."
I pushed my way through the crowd to see what everyone was out for.
"You are now of the age to become a trainer," a man said. "Choose your starter pokemon."
The crowd was silent as a girl, who was my age based on the anouncment I just heard, picked her first pokemon. She had long, straight, blonde hair and golden eyes. She stood at my height and her outfit contrasted mine almost perfectly. She wore a white skirt that came to her thighs and a baby blue tank top. Her skin was pale but she was built like a model.
"I choose you, Mudkip!" she shouted, wasting no time.
The crowd exploded with cheers as the green water pokemon beamed out of its pokeball.
'Hmm' I thought. 'A Hoenn starter. Interesting choice.'
"And now," the voice boomed over the crowd's cheering, "Selena will now head out into the world of adventure that many of us have traveled."
The crowd erupted again, but louder this time. Lights flashed all around as the people in the crowd took pictures of Selena and her new Mudkip. She was smiling but I could see that she was eager to get on her way.
Slowly the flashes died down and the crowd dispersed. I thought I saw Selena sigh with relief. The man next to her turned to give her a hug. Selena returned the hug and after exchanging a few words with the man, she started to head towards the forest.
"Hey wait up!" I called after her. She and her Mudkip turned to look with faces of concern.
When I caught up to them, which was in only a few large steps, I went on.
"I just started my pokemon journey today too and was wondering if you wanted company," I said in a rush.
"I don't see why not," Selena responded.
"Okay," I smiled. "I'm Rayna."
"Selena," she paused, "but I guess you already heard.
We started walking.
"What made you pick a Mudkip?" I inquired.
"My family was originally from the Hoenn Region and I've always been fond of the power and beauty of water pokemon. What about you? What's your choice pokemon?"
By now we were at the opening of the forest. I smiled and pulled Vulpix's ball off my belt.
"Come on out!" I called to her.
Vulpix beamed out of her ball and took her battle stance.
"No, Vulpix. This isn't a battle. Pix meet Selena; Selena meet Pix.
Mudkip, who had been hiding behind Selena's legs, came towards Pix.
Vulpix tilts her head at Mudkip and Mudkip mirrors. Vulpix barks and Mudkip finds itself hiding again.
"Pix, be nice," I command, trying not to laugh.
"I guess it'll take time for them to get along," Selena says.
"Shall we go?" I usher to the forest.
She nods and we enter.
"Be on your gaurd, Pix." I say.
"You too, Mukip," Selena says following suit.
Vulpix leads a step in front of us and Mudkp follows next to Selena with me on the other side. We continue walking.
Darkness starts to settle around us but we can still see. I can tell that Selena is a bit frightened by the forest so I try to help.
"Vulpix use Will-O-Wisp on yourself." Vulpix sends out six little fire balls that bounce in a circle around her.
We continue walking in full light again. I heard the call of a Hoot-Hoot and out the corner of my eye I saw Selena jump a bit.
"Shouldn't we just settle somewhere for the night?" Selena suggested, the fear in her voice.
"Would you rather sleep here?" I countered not wanting to stop until we got to the city. Her face went to panic.
"You aren't very tough for a battler, you know." I said trying not to be offensive.
"That's why I want to do contests instead," she said, not offended.
"Oh." Then I thought back to her words earlier. 'I've always been fond of the power and beauty of water pokemon.' Now it made sense.
She continued and we picked up our speed a little.
"I was glad to hear that they had recently built some contest halls here in Kanto."
"I think I remember Mom mentioning something about that."
She was just about to ask something but was interupted by a giant rawr.
Mudkip and Selena jumped to hide behind me so fast you would have thought both had just devoured many cans of Carbos.
Vulpix and I, on the other, hand stood our ground.
Out of the shadows came a giant Ursaring.
Vulpix, use Return!" I screamed before the Ursaring had a chance to move.
The next thing the Ursaring knew, he was knocked to his back by a powerful blow. Little did he know, Pix and I had a friendship so strong that it powered up Return like never before.
The Ursaring didn't move. He just laid on the forest floor.
Selena peeked over my shoulder.
I wasn't finished though. I pulled an empty pokeball from my belt.
"Good job, Pix. My turn now."
I threw the pokeball at the Ursaring.
The Ursaring was beamed into the ball but I knew I had to wait to make sure that it had been caught before I got too excited.

Okay sorry everyone for where I ended but I want the result to be the start of the next chapter. So you'll just have to wait to see what happens. Again keep the feedback coming so I know what you like and dislike about everything so far. I hope you liked it! Stay tuned for the next chapter.

Hey everyone! I hope you haven't all given up on me. IT's been a while since I've been on. But that's given me plenty of time to write in my story. Not really but I finished it anyway. Busy, busy, busy. Anyway, here's what you have all been waiting for! Chapter 6!!!

Chapter 6- Introductions
Vulpix stood her ground and I was on edge as the ball shook once, twice, a third time.
IT stooped shaking but the light stayed on. I caught my breath, as did Selena.
Finally, the light clicked off.
"Yes!" I exclaimed. "My first wild pokemon catch!"
"Good job," Selena congratulated.
I was just about to call Ursaring out but Selena caught my arm.
"Don't let him out yet," she cautioned. "He's badly hurt. He's safer in his ball until we get him to a PokeCenter."
"I guess," I said putting his ball back on my belt. Four more pokemon to catch. "Come on, let's get out of the forest."
She agreed and we ran the rest of the way out. Pewter City greeted us with normality. Not many people were out now and those that were didn't seem to notice us. We went straight for the PokeCenter where Nurse Joy sat behind her desk. When she saw us she got up to welcome us.
"Welcome to the Pewter City PokeCenter. You're out late. What can I do for you?"
"He needs healing," I said quietly, holding out Ursaring's ball.
"Okay, I'll take a look at him." I nodded. "Feel free to wait in here or out in the town. I'll call you when I have the verdict. Your name?"
"Rayna."
"Okay then, I'll see what I can do."
She then turned and disappeared into the back rooms. I turned to Selena but she wasn't behind me like before. I scanned the area and found her at the video phones. I walked over to the area but stayed far enough away to give her privacy. When she mothioned me over though, I went.
The man she was talking to was the same man who had anounced Selena's pokemon choosing earlier. Up close though, he looked familiar. I just couldn't put my finder on it.
"Rayna," Selena said, "this is Dad. Dad this is Rayna."
I bowed my head as did he. "Nice to meet you," I said.
"The pleasure is mine," he countered. "I heard of your battle with Ursaring. If I may say so, sound sound like quite the trainer."
I felt my face grow red as I muttered a small "Thanks."
"I look foward to seeing your battles one day."
I blushed more but managed to nod.
"Well if you're in Pewter ," her dad continued, "you'll want to visit the museum. They have some interesting fossils and sculptures on display."
"We'll think about it."
Alright then, good night, girls."
Good night, Dad."
I just nodded again. Then it all clicked. You girls are out late. Good night. I had gotten through the forest before night fell.
I had acomplished my fist goal.
Plus I caught a pokemon before I planned to. This I had to tell Mom and Dad about. So as Selena got up, I sat down.
"This will only take a minute or two," I told her.
She went over to sit in the waiting area. I dialed the number to our houseand Mom answered. Her face was excited as she saw me.
"Bill!" she shouted to the other room. "Rayna's on the phone!"
Dad was there in a few quick strides.
"Fill us in on everything," Mom said commanding.
"Well," I started. "I got to Viridian City alright. It was quiet getting there like you said. In Viridian City, I met a girl from Hoenn who started her journey today as well. Her name is Selena and she picked a Mudkip as her starter. She's into contests like from her home.
"Hoenn?" Mom asked surprised.
I nodded.
"Wait," Dad said. "Did you say Selena?"
"Yeah, why?"
"That must be May's youngest sister," he answered.
"May?" Mom asked. "You mean Norman's daught?"
Then it clicked. Norman. That's who he was.
"Yes," Dad said. "They must have moved so Norman could fill the empty gym in Viridian City."
"Sorry for the side bar, dear," Mom apologized. "Continue."
"Well she and I got through the forest but not before I battled and caught a wild Ursaring using Return."
"Wow!" Mom exclaimed.
"Congradulations!" Dad clapped.
"How are they then?" Mom asked.
Then I realized that I didn't know where Vulpix was.
"Vulpix!" I exclaimed, worried.
"She's over here!" Selena called back. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw Pix.
"I don't think you'll have to worry about her running away but be careful," Dad warned.
"Where's your Ursaring?" Mom questioned.
"Nurse Joy is looking at him now. The Return was really powerful."
"Vulpix was trying to protect you." Dad said.
Just then Nurse Joy came out from the back rooms.
After promising Mom and Dad that I would let them know how everything turned out, I hung up and rushed over to Nurse Joy.
"He'll be alright," she started, walking me back to his room. I let out my breath. "I would like to keep him over night to keep an eye on things."
I nodded figuring that we were staying the night anyway.
"Out of curiousity," she continued, " what move did you use before catching him?"
"Return," I said quietly.
"You must have a bond with your pokemon beyond any other. I would have liked to see that battle."
I blushed and smiled shyly.
"It's trainers like you that make it to the Hall of Fame in no time."
"I hope so."
By now we had made it to Ursaring's room. He was laying on the bed, sleeping peacefully.
"He'll be waking up anytime now," Nurse Joy informed me. "I'll leave you alone." And with that she left the room closing the door behind her. I took a seat in the chair next to the bed and waited.
I didn't have to wait that long, though because he was waking up then. He turned his head to me and I pulled out his pokeball.
"Welcome to the team."

This chapter is finally finished. I'm sorry for all the breaks along the way. Too much going on I guess. hehe that's what I get for being an over-achiever. Anyway, don't forget to send me comments/concers/questions to me via PM. If I get good questions, I'll answer them in this thread for everyone. Hopefully my next chapter can get up soon and in one block of time. hehe Thanks for those who put up with me during this one. Stay tuned for chapter 7!

Just to let everyone know, the poll results will probably be featured in the next chapter or the one right after that (chapter 7 or 8 ). So to see how they play in stay tuned. Oh and just so you know...just because phychic won it doesn't mean that it will deffinitly be phychic that she battles. Its a possibility but you'll have to wait and see.

Well there isn't much to say here. You have all been waiting for the results of the poll and in this chapter you get a little taste of it but it isn't certain which she battles. Confused? Just read.

Chapter 7- Fossils and Dark Looks
The next morning I woke up out in the waiting area. Selena was still asleep with Mudkip on her stomach. Vulpix was at the end of the couch and on top of my feet. I scratched her head to wake her up.
She yawned and looked up at me with tired eyes.
"Wanna go meet our new friend?" I whispered.
She got to her feet slowly and jumped to the floor carefully. I took that to mean yes.
I lead the way to Ursaring's room with Vulpix following me sleepily.
I pushed open the door to his room and walked inside.
“Good morning,” I said happily, seeing Ursaring already up.
Ursaring looked at Vulpix warily. Vulpix jumped onto the end of the bed and sniffed at Ursaring’s feet. Ursaring lowered his head inspecting Vulpix.
“So are you two going to be good partners or what?” I questioned after awhile.
They both looked at me. Vulpix smiled and nodded once.
Nurse Joy stuck her head in then.
“He’s ready to go whenever you are,” she told me. “Just don’t let him take another blow like that Return until he’s stronger.”
“Got it,” I said. “And thank you.”
“Your welcome. That’s what we are here for. Stop by any PokeCenter if you need anything.”
I nodded and she left without another word.
I turned back to my pokemon and pulled out their pokeballs.
“You heard her,” I said with a smile. “Ursaring and Vulpix Return!”
They were both beamed into their balls. I smiled bigger as I attached the filled pokeballs to my belt.
I made my way back out to the waiting area where Selena was gathering her things. Mudkip was standing by and yawning.
“Ready to head out?” she asked when she looked up and saw me.
“Whenever you are,” I responded.
She finished putting her things away and called Mudkip into his ball.
“There isn’t a contest hall or gym in this town,” she said. “Well there’s a gym but it’s closed until further notice. So do you want to check out the museum or no?”
“I think it would be cool to go if you don’t mind,” I answered. “If we get there early, maybe we can beat the rush.”
“Sure. Dad talks about it so much so I want to see what the fuss is about.”
“Let’s go then.”
She nodded and we were on our way.
When we got in we realized what the fuss was about and that we would not beat the rush. Aside from being a bit crowded, it was amazing!
Every inch of the wall was covered with ancient documents and there were rows upon rows of fossils in cases that had been found in the underground.
We took an hour or so looking at everything before heading to the second floor. We were shocked by what we saw.
Every fossil that we saw downstairs was pictured on the outside of a pen that contained the rejuvenated pokemon that it belonged to.
While I stopped to admire a Kabuto, Selena slipped into the growing morning crowd. I didn’t worry too much and figured that we would just meet up later.
I moved my way to look at all the pokemon. I felt something brush against my pants as I was looking at a Lileep. When I looked down , I found myself looking at a little Poliwag. But before I knew it, the little water pokemon was beamed into a pokeball somewhere in the crowd. I followed the beam as it disappeared into the hands of the trainer, a boy with a dark look about him.
Within the short glimpse of him, I gathered much about his look. His hair was jet black and hung messily in front of his eyes, though from where I stood I could not decipher their color.
As he turned away to disappear into the crowd, I noticed his outfit was all black- a black long sleeved shirt and black cargo pants. I wondered about him as I went to look for Selena.
I found her by a pen containing an Anorith. She looked excited when she saw me and her voice confirmed it.
“Isn’t this amazing?” she asked.
I regain my thoughts quickly and remember the amazement of seeing the pokemon.
“Yeah, it was just like going back in time!” I say matching her enthusiasm.
“I’d love to stay,” she continued, “but I think we should probably get going. And with these crowds. Who would have known it would be this busy, this early?”
And with that we were on our way. We made our way back through the crowds and out into the city. It was just getting busy with the day-time routines.
As we started towards Route 3, Selena stopped suddenly.
“What is it?” I asked.
“My scarf!” I then realized that she wasn’t wearing the scarf she had put on this morning. “It’s plain-white. Help me look for it.” I was just about to start looking when Selena turned around and gasped.
An Espeon sat with a plain-white scarf in its mouth. Selena took it with thanks and before we knew it the Espeon was beamed back into its ball. When I saw its trainer, I actually jumped.
The dark look was hard to miss. He noticed me and held my gaze. While only for a few seconds, the gaze was enough to send a chill up my spine. Then he turned and disappeared into the crowd just as he had done before.
“Rayna, are you alright?” Selena was asking.
“Yeah,” I said slowly trying once again to gather my thoughts.
“That was the most beautiful Espeon I’ve ever seen!” She went on about its beauty as something clicked in my head.
On the front of his shirt had been three purple question marks. It was the number though that worried me. Stories of Mom’s rival filled my head. He referred to himself by only three question marks instead of a name. He made so much trouble that Mom ended up fixing in the end. But when Mom received the Dragon Master’s approval and he did not, he realized he was missing something when he was training. He stopped making trouble and eventually disappeared, never to be seen again.
Now I had been confronted by someone like him. Twice.
“Selena, he’s evil.” I interrupted, catching her off guard.
“What? Who?”
“Espeon’s trainer,” I clarified. “He’s evil.”

Okay so that's chapter 7. Stick around to see what's next. Look's like Rayna's got a rival now. Or something like that...or something totally different. Just wait to find out. Hope you liked it. Again feedback and questions can get to me via PM's. Let me know what you think and even tell me what you would like to see happen. Thanks for reading!

It's been awhile so I hope you are still out there. I have been so busy I haven't had time for much of anything...well okay I have but not long enough to type this chapter. I have the next few chapters here though so I will be at the mercy of my freetime and moreso my mom. So I'll type them as soon as the chance arises. Enough chit-chat. Here goes chapter 8!

Chapter 8- The Battles Begin
Selena just stared at me. After a couple of seconds, she spoke.
"He can't be," she started, "otherwise his Eevee wouldn't have evolved into that beatiful Espeon."
I gave her a confused look so she explained.
"If an Eevee reaches a high level of friendship with its owner in the morning, it will evolve into an Espeon. If it reaches a high level at night, it willl evolve into an Umbreon."
"Oh," I said. "But he has to be evil." Now questioning myself.
"Why?"
"The three question marks on his shirt. That's what my mom's rival referred to himself as."
"Wait," she said putting the pieces together. "Your mom is the chap f the Johto region!" she exclaimed.
"Yeah but-"
"Your mom beat Red!" she interrupted excitedly and starstruck. "She's so awesome! I can't believe my journey started off with the daughter of the most amazing champion ever without even knowing it!"
I scrunched my brow disapointed.
"Don't be like that," I said. "She's not just some famous person, you know. She worked hard to get where she is now and started as a regular trainer like us."
Selena started to say something but I kept going.
"There is no way I'm going to let people just act nice to get to her and her techniques because that's all that most people want and that's just rude."
A silence fell over us and Selena let her gaze drop to the ground.
Quietly she spoke. "I'm sorry, I never thought of it that way."
Then she looked up at me. "I'm not trying to use you to get to your mom. I just-" she broke off and looked away. "Its just her battle styles always reminded me of how my sister battled. And when she left it was like I could watch my sister in those techniques because my sister had similar ones."
"I'm sorry too," I said. Selena looked back at me shocked. "I'm a bit defensive when people try to pretend to know her because they know me. I guess its just because it happened a lot when I was growing up."
"Let's pretend I never got all star-crazed," Selena offered. "What do you say?" I was about to agree when a boy ran up to us and met my gaze.
I gulped.
"You owe me a battle," was all he said.
And before I knew it I was in my first trainer battle. With a villian nonetheless.
I called Vulpix out and she stood her groud ready for anything. Thinking back, I knew he had a poliwag and an Espeon. I wondered which he would call on- but I was shocked and scared as he called out a third membe of his team.
"Metagross!" he called out. "Let's do this!"
I gulped again but Vulpix held her footing awaiting my command.
I remebered the teachings of my parents and knew that Metagross had to be level 45 before it could evelove from a Metang. That's when I realized that it would be difficult if not impossible to beat him.
"I'll let you move first Rayna," he said.
I was stuck by the way he said my name so easily. Like he used it everyday.
"Vulpix, use Retun followd by Swift!" I commanded. Then I questioned this unknown trainer, "how do you know my name?"
My words were followed immediatly by the crash of Vulpix's Return landing right between Metagross's eyes. He lost his footing and fell back. I jumped at the sound he made as he stumbled. Just as the stars were forming from Vulpix, Metagross was being commanded. "Metagross, hold your ground! Use Protect then Bide!"
A green shield was formed in front of Metgross just in time that the stars from the Swift fell and disapeared without making damage. The green shield vanashed with them but the Metagross didn't move. I knew he was storing energy.
"You don't remember me, Rayna?" he asked sounding almost sad.
"He's giving us a chance to attack! Vulpix, hit him with another Return!" I knew this would wipe Vulpix out completely if Metagross was given a chance to unleash his energy.
Vulpix followed orders and I watched her land another perfect attack.
Metagross fell off his feet and the ground shock but he didn't move to steady himself. He continued to store energy.
"And no, I don't remember you!" I shouted back to the trainer.
"Metagross be strong! Keep storing!" he commanded his pokemon. Then to me he asked, "Are you sure?" At this he smiled, and with that smile- that small, soft smile- I remembered.

Well, there you go. The first battle. I hope that satisfies your questions. If there are any left, you can PM me or just stick around waiting for the next chapter which is completed. It will be up as soon as I can get it up. Hopefully you won't have to wait as long as you did for this one. I left off in a big cliff-hanger on the last one and probably had some readers ready to come after me. But now you have it so please don't hurt me. Thanks for reading!:)

Okay so that was another long break. Sorry about that but with all the rush and business before and after Christmas, I was booked! I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas or whatever holiday you may celebrate at this time. And I hope everyone is off to a great start to a new year. One new year's resolution is one that you all will enjoy: I hope to put up the next chapters without annoying long breaks!!! With my schedule though I can't put a set day to put them up so with that part you'll have to bear with me. Well, I don't want to keep my readers waiting any longer so here it goes!!!

Chapter 9- Back in the Day
The day was a cold, winter one and Vulpix and I were sitting by the warmth given off by the fire of Mom's starte pokemon- Flare, the Typhlosion. Vulpix, being a fire pokemon herself, wasn't really effected by the cold.
Mom's friend was coming over that day with her son. They called it a play-date but it was just a reason for them to sit and talk without having to worry about us kids. Flare was always put in charge of watching to make sure we didn't do anything dangerous.
That day was different though because Mom's friend Jasmine let her son Max bring over his new starter pokemon.
"Rayna!" he called down the hallway. "Rayna, look!"
He pulled a pokeball from his pocket and called out an Eevee.
The Eevee was beautiful even in its young age. I started to scratch her head but Vulpix pushed her head under my arm and pushed the Eevee out of the way.
I giggled. "Someone's jealous."
That's okay," MAx said. "As long as she doesn't hurt my Eevee."
"I won't let her," I promised. "What are you gonna call her?"
Max sat down on the other side of me with Eevee on his lap. "I think I'm going to see what she evolves into first."
"Oh yeah, because an Eevee can evolve intofive different forms."
"Seven," he corrected. "Two more evolutions were discovered in the Sinnoh region."
"Wow!"
"I think I like the Electric evolution best but I also like the Phychic one too."
"The Phychic on is so pretty!" I said. "You should evolve her to that one."
"We'll see."
We sat watching the fire for a minute or two quietly. Sometimes we didn't need words.
Except today.
He said something so quietly that I didn't hear him.
"What was that?"
He spoke only slightly louder but I caught what he said.
"I think we're moving."
"What?!" I was in complete shock. "Why?"
"Mom's upset about the new law that we have to be sixteen to start our pokemon journey and she's always wanted to see other regions like your parents did. That's all Mom will say."
"But you can't go," I said sadly.
"I don't want to," he says, "but I think I have to. And it's not like we'll never see each other again. When I'm out on my own, I'll come back and battle you."
"Yeah but you'll be like six years better."
"Don't worry, I'll go easy on you."
After that day, I saw Max only one more time before he moved. I saw them on the day that they moved. Vulpix and Eevee even seemed sad that they didn't get a chance to be friends. I hugged my best friend for the last time that day. My last inage was him in all black. His only color being his red hair that hung in front of his eyes. And he defintily wasn't smiling.

There you go. I hope you enjoyed it. Comments, questions, concerns, etc. can be sent to me via PM. I hope to have the next chapter up shortly. It is completed, I just need time to type. Thanks for reading!
