Maybe a change in the gym names are in order?

I was looking at the names of all the gyms and thought, "Wait, the gyms have the same names as the Sinnoh gyms, yet they have different badges." Seeing as how the PokeFarm gym system has its own badges, maybe the names should be changed as well. Any thoughts; has this subject been brought up before?

I don't know...It could be good. But then again, We know the Fen gym as the FEN gym, changing it would be akward.

But the Fen gym is the gym in Pastoria City. This is PokeFarm, we should have our own gym names.

This is a topic that has come up from time to time in the Gym Leader's retreat.

Some are for it, others are against it, and it is generally felt that this is a lot of work just to be different. (Can you tell which side of the debate I usually come down on? ;))

Thus far, nothing has come of the debate.

That was brought up when the gym badges were changed. I liked the original badges if they were sinnoh gyms.

I believe that is what the Chrysalis and Gemini Gyms were. A side project to get people into battling and see how things went.

The only thing with how the current gyms are and how they resemble sinnoh, that keeps the gyms different and not 8 gyms with Dragon/??? or heavy on 1 typing making the gym system a bit easier when people can gear a team that can handle 5 or 6 gyms with the same typing.

I was thinking that the gym leaders name their own gyms something different than the in game gyms.

Seconded. We can have like really cool Gym names like...some of you creative guys come up with something. But it's been a dream to have someone start a Dragon gym. It's not possible with the limited amount of dragons now...a dream is a dream :p

Psst, the gyms have already been renamed, I think at some point they will be renamed again, perhaps with HG/SS. (this thread is fairly old ;))

Dragon typing can't be a primary type atm, but its always selectable by the leaders choice, although it would be incredibly broken if it was second typing on Forge, :razz:.
