One thing I always do when i go 'wi-fi' for any ds game is to allway have the power adapter plugged in. This way the DS can give full power to the wi-fi transmitter/reciever. When you are running on Battery, the unit give power prioity to the game first and whats left goes into wi-fi.

Um, I'm pretty sure that power distribution is the same whether you're on battery or outlet. It's possible that the outlet you're using is closer to your access point, and that's what's doing it.

true but if your battery is only at 20% , then wi-fi only getting 10% where if the power is 100 % then the wi-fi is getting 50%

Um, no, that's not at all how electricity works. I'll give you that if you had a low battery you'd have a much shorter amount of time on WiFi than if you're plugged in, but that's pretty basic for all functions of the device.

WiFi does consume more power than normal, sure, but that doesn't change the quality, at least enough to seriously impact performance. If I personally had an option to use half a battery sitting next to my WiFi source, or sit fifty feet away from it to be plugged into the wall, I'll take next to the hotspot, every time. Power consumption simply isn't a large enough factor, at least when comparing the other main factors to signal quality.

In short, this probably wouldn't hurt, but it wouldn't help very much either.
