Should I get Emerald???

Should i get Pokemon Emerald. I've been trying to finish Sapphire, but I just can't get motivated enough to finish it. I think that if I get Emerald I might acctually play through it.

If you can find a copy of Emerald, I say go for it. I have played a little of Pokemon Ruby and Emerald, and I found Emerald more entertaining because the gym leaders provide a better challenge, there's more trainers on the road, and more double battle opportunities.

i don't have ruby or saphire but i do have two copies of emerald (don't ask). i say get it used and see if the people at the store will let you check the different cartridges before you buy one. then you might get something really awesome like i did where the previous person had played over 300 hours and had all the legendaries and high level pkmn and such. if they don't then roll the dice, pal park any decent pokemon/items, and restart it and have fun.

emerald is a great game. i've gotten a lot of use out of mine and i think you would with yours. i've read about how much more it has than the pervious two so i'm sure you'll get a lot of milage out of it. :)

you can always ask for it for christmas if nothing else. or, like me, you can buy it for yourself and say it's an early christmas present. :-P

No, they actually had a lot when I was there. I didn't see any Ruby though.

If you're willing to pay more, you may be able to find a new legit copy off of Ebay (yes, they exist and these people will go the extra mile to prove it too). I have also checked Amazon and I noticed the price for Emerald doubled (maybe even tripled...) in the past year.

Target stopped carrying most GBA games emerald being one. Ive been looking for a copy for months. Bought one on ebay but the seller ended up being a fraud and I am back on the hunt.

that's bad luck. :hug: i've never had a problem finding them at game stores here. one thing i've learned about ebay is that you really shouldn't buy games from it. i've had enough people have enough bad experiences with that to know that it isn't worth it.

when i bought my second copy of emerald the store i went to had half a dozen used copies of it. it was a gamestop at the mall. i haven't seen any new in normal stores for months.

you should try amazon, i got fire red for £18 off amazon, it was new in the packet. thats about $9 i think... it used to be anyway...

i never finished emerald, i still haven't. hmm. might start again as i traded all my pokemon over to pearl...

I have also seen brand new copies of Emerald at Toys R Us. I think the price here in Louisiana was $35, but I can't say for sure. I originally purchased a used copy of Emerald at Gamestop, but had problems with the cartridge, and returned it. I later found the brand new copy at Toys R Us. I was shocked when I saw it sitting on the shelf!!! :eek: Maybe you can get lucky too! Good Luck.;)

new GBA games cost 35 pounds so thats like half the price. how much are new GBA games in America?

For new games around here,about $30-$40 dollars.
Hmmmm........I went on google and some people are selling their emerald game.

A lot of GBA games are pretty much half price now too, but there's still a demand for the pkmn games due to their compatibility with D/P/Pt, so they're around the same price as when they were new.

Zelda and Pokemon are the two highest-quality games with the most fame, aside from Mario, which is still rather an industry standard, so behaves as the rest of the industry, reducing in price proportionally. Therefor, those two series, as well as a few privately produced games, never drop more than five dollars. Even used, or on eBay, Majora's Mask and Pokemon Stadium 2 are almost the same price as when they were released. I haven't bought a GBA game in a while, so I don't know for sure, but I'm sure that it actually hasn't dropped that much. EBay usually has such things fairly cheap, though, if you watch them.

I had one bad experience on eBay too but not everyone on eBay is like that though. I was able to buy a new copy of Pokemon Ruby that was still factory sealed and when I took the cartridge out, it had the right marks on the sticker and bottom of the cartridge. The guy had a picture of the box with a piece of paper with his eBay on it. I had to pay about twice as much as the other GBA pokemon games (I bought the others on Amazon) but it's worth having a copy of the game that was legit.

Around here all the stores are sold out. Amazon sells it for $89 new. Toys r us didnt have it here and they wont get more.

Although I hear santa claus is getting me one so I have ceased my hunt. But the longer one waits the rarer and more money it is.

man, that stinks, hopefully its possible to report this to amazon. Otherwise, it might be best to call lots of stores that stock pokemon emerald, and just keep asking. It might work eventually, and its more reliable. Good luck in your endeavors

I bought one off ebay and one from Sebronco.com and both had corrupt save files and are worthless. Luckily I picked up a legit one from Circuit City a few months ago to do some third gen breeding.

I'm the same way. I finished my LG months ago but FR is just in my DS being lonely... LG was a Christmas present from my Matte last year (I gave him FR) and I bought my own FR at the game store for $25. I'm thinking of getting myself Ruby and Saphire for Christmas this year. I think I saw them for only $25 or $30 last time I went to the used game store...

Actually, if infernape wasn't essentially the same but better, I would say that you should choose torchic... But mudkip is still without comparison.
