I will post tips on improving your teams, regardless if i lose or win. After all, I am here to help you out. :wink:

Revel, it was my opinion that switching out Pokemon would not have any effect on your so-called "strategy."

And yes, I have attempted to EV train my Pokemon, but my Pokemon are not Level 100 monsters outside of the battles either.

It makes no difference if your pokes are level 100 or not out of battle, the wifi changes all stats.

besides the level 100 remark, Netgeo has that kind of ability and there are ways around it. Look, train up the team with the correct EVs, switch some pokes around and post a rate my team thread and everyone here in PF will help you out. Btw, did you have any items on your pokes?

Lastly, you do not have to wait a week to face me again, so we can schedule a rematch within this week. I will be busy tomorrow, so anytime afterwards is alright :D

You trained them alittle more in speed. He gave it another item, many things can explain this. You can ask anybody here who knows of the metagame, It does not matter the level in the game. Disscusion ended.

If could be the fact you while you were training your pokemon, the wild pokemon you were defeating gave your pokemon speed EVs. From the way you're talking it doesn't seem like you properly EV train. The levels pokemon have in game have absolutely no influence on wifi matches

arcticwlf, levels of my pokemon or yours do not really make a difference in level 50 or 100 wifi battles. It is the effort values that you place among your pokemon that does, along with IV breeding.

If you wish to have faster pokes I can recommend a few EV training spots to train for Speed EVs.

There are a couple things that might have made the difference - It would depend which pokemon/move we were talking about. It may be that in those levels, you were able to add enough Speed EV's to outspeed my pokemon.

It could also be that you used a priority move (quick attack, etc) or that I used a move with negative priority (whirlwind).

There's also the chance that the items were different at that time, as the items can make a difference with speed as well (Choice Scarf)

I couldn't specifically say what the circumstances were, but there are several possibilities.

There are several scenarios that could have taken place:

1. Whit could have had choice scarf on during the first battle and took it off during the second battle. gym leaders are expected to adapt to challengers, and as such it would not surprise me if he did switch items around.

2. He may have used the same species of pokemon for both battles, but just switched pokes. When I was Mine Gym Leader I had three completely different Metagross that I would rotate.

3. Your EV training made it faster than his poke.

4. Be sure to check the move's priority level.

On another topic, level outside of battle has nothing to do with in-battle performance. I had a level 24 Skarmory that if fully EV trained and ready to go in any battle. Like they told you, Wifi automatically changes the stats.

I know I'm repeating a lot of what has already been said, but like the rest of us on here, we're just trying to help.

A loss is a loss. It isn't pretty, but it happens to all of us. Just go ahead and try again when you get the chance.

don't bring yourself down there wlf, we all make mistakes in battle. I made that mistake baton passing to the wrong pokemon.

run_bubba_run you had me going as well. you let me set up and you didn't bring a rapid spinner with you. letting me set up fodder might have cost you the game.

welp, as always, i get gym challenges during the weekend...

I know im online right now, but i got plans for today so i won't be on for the rest of the day. Saturday would be the best time to get gym assist battles done, so request then. im busy sunday and monday so tuesday afternoon onwards would be also great to get battles done.
