Recruiting Kecleon?

I think I've recruited all the legendary pokemon I can for now - including Darkrai and Deoxys - and I've levelled up "Team Bemph" to level 100 and have achieved Master Rank.
I haven't attempted Zero Island yet, but I'm almost out of recruits (trying to 'recruit them all')
Now I'm thinking of going after Kecleon. All the guides say I'm in for a challenge now, but still... did anyone else try to recruit Kecleon? Success/horror stories, anyone?

The tips I have read include:


Team members should all be level 100
Team leader should have the 'Fast Friend' IQ skill, and should be holding a friendship-promoting item
Take item/s from kecleon's shop in dungeon
Either select "NO" or don't have enough money on hand to pay for your purchase
Kecleon will summon minions and it's speed and attack will increase. It will also take very little damage from your attacks.
Recruitment rate for Kecleon is supposed to be 1000:1 or something ridiculous like that - expect to try many times without success.

yeah, I tried just for fun cause the exit was 2 steps away, I didnt have a change at winning though XP

When you recruit the Kecleon, do you have a chance of recruiting the purple Kecleon?

This had nothing to do with the topic so I deleted it. wow... I was stupid back a while ago....

I don't think the purple one can be recruited, because I only see him in Treasure Town - I've never seen a purple kecleon in any dungeons.

Anyway, yesterday I was in I think Mystifying Forest, and a skuntank decided to explode next to kecleon, taking 40 of his HP. I had just finished visiting his shop, exchanging 3 Golden Ribbons for 3 evolution items/gummies (I don't remember which) - anyways, straight after this, my lovely team mates decided to attack kecleon. He died after a few dozen hits.
So, I decided, might as well take my ribbons back and sell them in Treasure Town. Behold! Kecleon Army! hehe... anyways I didn't manage to recruit him, but I'll keep on trying.

The way I managed to recruit that tradgedy is

1: I got a high leveled ghost type (make sure to keep Night Shade)
2: Make them leader, and I suggest going solo unless you have more ghosts
3: Get alot of Apple products, Max Elixers, and a recruiting item
4: Of course Rip Off Kelcleon
5: Then hide in a wall
6: As the army moves in and infront of you start night shading away.
7: Enjoy laughing at the helpless kelcleon falling before you
8: Use the apples and Elixers when needed
9: Grab a good book or T.V. channel and get comfy for it will take a while

This is the evil plot I used to get him on Red Rescue Team series. I think it still works on the new version. Hope this helps:D

I had Blue rescue team and i'm getting Explorers of time and about the Kecleon,I stole once but the other times i got killed.

If any one wants to know the recruit rate of kecleon it's -33% but with all the enhancing things for rcruiting it brings it to a whooping 0.1% recruit rate:)
