My friend and I have decided to set up a UU tournament at our school because there are actually like 10-12 kids who play D/P. The rules are simple; all UU/NU, 6v6, item/sleep/evasion/specie/OHKO clauses on. most battles will take place through the pokecenter coliseum (in person) so also all pokes must be >lvl55.

so heres my team. It has overall good type resistance, but coverage is kind of lacking. Know before you critique that Kricketune is set in stone because I have a shiny one that I would really like to see do some sweeping.

Lead:
Grumpig @ lefties
calm-thick fat
140 HP / 100 Def / 252 SpA / 16 SpD
Magic Coat Psychic
energy ball/power gem thunder wave

this is the "anti-lead" from smogon except with lefties and no signal beam since I don't have platinum. I am not sure what that 3rd slot should be, it could also potentially be reflect. It annoys people rather well and can function as well from the baton pass... see below

Dewgong @ damp rock
calm-hydration
252 HP / 252 spatk / 4 def
Rain Dance Surf
Rest Ice Beam (HP Electric?)

I'm hoping since few of the kids at my school have been battling competitively for very long that Dewgong will be able to wall well. with that being said, this set is sweet and provides pretty good coverage, as well as setting up for Kabutops.

Kabutops @ Life Orb
Adamant-swift swim
252 atk / 252 speed / 4 hp
Swords Dance Stone Edge
Waterfall Aerial Ace (aqua jet?)

doesn't need much explanation, should be my epic sweeper. Aqua jet might be a good idea but aerial ace helps me against grass and bug which there might be a lot of.

Leafeon @ lum berry
Impish-leaf guard
252 HP / 20 Def / 236 Spe
Wish Protect
Yawn Leaf Blade

not so sure about this guy. he's a great team player in this case, and can take physical hits really well, but It seems kind of off to me. I could make it a swords dance sweeper but that means all 3 of my physical attackers carry swords dance, which is just a little weird. I don't know. I felt like I needed a physical wall and leafeon seemed like a cool choice. any suggestions would be welcome.

Kricketune @ salac berry
Naive-swarm
252 atk / 252 spd / 4 hp
Swords Dance Endure
X-scissor Brick Break

the idea is to SD on something that can't kill you and then endure to activate the Salac boost and swarm. then kill stuff. its naive because it's shiny.

Minun @ focus sash
Timid-minus
252 spatk / 252 speed / 4 spdef
Thunderbolt Nasty Plot
HP Ice Baton Pass

Focus Sash ensures a nasty plot and then the special sweep begins! if I get in trouble I can pass the boost off to dewgong or grumpig. this is my special sweeper, the only downside is that I can't get any benefit from my ability, but that is a given, i mean its minun.

cool. comments are appreciated.

This looks like a good set to me. Energy ball can throw some people off guard. Maybe you'd want to replace t-wave with calm mind to build your defenses? I know you have minun to baton pass nasty plots, but just in case it doesn't survive for some reason in the battle, regardless of having a focus sash (ie: being prone to pokes with priority moves when you try to baton pass)

Dewgong @ damp rock
calm-hydration
252 HP / 252 spatk / 4 def
Rain Dance Surf
Rest Ice Beam (HP Electric?)

Looks perfectly fine to me. You really take advantage of Dewgong's ability with this set so I think just keep it the way it is.

I think aqua jet would be a better choice. You wouldn't want to keep Kabutops against any grass types, seeing as it has a 4x weakness to them. It's also good to have at least one priority move to take people by surprise. I didn't even know it could learn aqua jet lol.

Leafeon @ lum berry
Impish-leaf guard
252 HP / 20 Def / 236 Spe
Wish Protect
Yawn Leaf Blade

I say stick with this set. I've seen so many leafeon swords dancers that it's pretty much expected. This set would definitely throw people off guard.

Kricketune @ salac berry
Naive-swarm
252 atk / 252 spd / 4 hp
Swords Dance Endure
X-scissor Brick Break

the idea is to SD on something that can't kill you and then endure to activate the Salac boost and swarm. then kill stuff. its naive because it's shiny.

Good plan here. Again you have to watch out for weather effects and priority moves so use this technique with caution.

Minun @ focus sash
Timid-minus
252 spatk / 252 speed / 4 spdef
Thunderbolt Nasty Plot
HP Ice Baton Pass

Focus Sash ensures a nasty plot and then the special sweep begins! if I get in trouble I can pass the boost off to dewgong or grumpig. this is my special sweeper, the only downside is that I can't get any benefit from my ability, but that is a given, i mean its minun.

cute little minun. I've seen they work well with plusle in double battles. Single I'm not so sure about so I can't advise on this, but it seems like a good set.

yeah, those shrot messages really get you down don't they? thanks for the thoughts. I actually need to look up how Kabutops learns aqua jet and make sure its doable, thx for reminding me :P

Yeah it's annoying lol. Np. I'm glad to be of any help. Remember, having the element of surprise in a battle is typically what helps you win. Nothing wrong with using smogon sets like on your Grumpig, but if possible, try to use the set and change it up a bit. Otherwise, people will be able to predict you more easily. Best of luck in that tourney of yours. I hope you come out on top!

Seth id suggest making a detailed thread of your own.

Anyway a note on Jawz team, its looks good, i agree with paiopa with the swords dance ive tried one on Shoddy they don't last 2 seconds. If you want more advise ask sorg shes somewhat of an expert, and buzz he loves them :)

I say go with Rapidash! Not only cuz I personally like it, but I think it would be a good member of your team. You have a few walls, aggron, bellosom, and solrock. You want someone with speed and power and rapidash is the prime candidate :)
