"I call this meeting to order!" Proffesor Green said, hammering is fist on the table. The members of the Pokemon Lovers club stopped talking. They turned to face Proffessor Green and sat down. Green smiled. "Now." He said. "There is a matter we have to talk about. A matter we haven't talked about in many years. Which pokemon is the best?"
The members of the Pokemon Lovers club started talking all together. "Easy, Green. Said news reporter Toby Shot. "It's Pikachu. We have always said that it's Pikachu, and it still is!" Toby had been a member of Pokemon Lovers for as long as he could remember. He loved Pikachu. When the club had started, everyone had. Now, there were more Pokemon, and more choices. There were also more members.
"I think it should be Cleffa!" Said Mia, who had just joined a year ago. They're sooooooo cute!"
"I like Raticate." Said Tom, Mia's brother. "They're cool and they have cool moves, too!"
"Why not Raichu?" Said Chris, a pokemon trainer. "He's just a better Pikachu."
"Not Raichu!" Said Toby. "Pikachu!"
"Raichu!"
"Pikachu!"
"Silence!"Said Green. "Now, we all have different opinions. Let's take a vote." But it wouldn't work. Everyone voted for their own favorite pokemon. The talking began again. "Hmm..." Though Green. "Chris, do you have your Pokedex? We could look at all the pokemon in there!" Chris put his Pokedex on the table. He opened it up and a picture of Bulbasaur came up on the screen.
"Bulbasaur is a good pokemon." Green said. "Red used that pokemon, you know."
"Really?" Mia asked. "Red himself?"
"Yes." Said Green. "Does anyone think Bulbasaur should be the best?" Two people raised their hands. Green turned to one of them. It was Mia. "Why do you think Bulbasaur should be the best?" He asked.
"Because Red used him!" She smiled.
The other person was Daisy, a pokemon breeder. "Bulbasaur is my favorite pokemon." She said. "He evolves into a very strong pokemon."
"So that's Bulbasaur." Green said. "Who's next?" Chris pressed a button on the pokedex and Squirtle came up.
And so the members of the Pokemon Lovers club went through the pokemon. They went from one pokemon to the next, but it was getting late. The stopped, and everyone went home.

The next day, the members of the club started again. Chris got out his pokedex and pressed the button. A question mark came up.
"It's the only pokemon I don't have." He said. "Mew."
The name brought gasps to the room. "Is Mew the best?" Mia asked.
"I don't know." Said Chris. "I've never seen her!"
"Pikachu is better than Mew, right?" Toby asked. "Pikachu is the best!"
"We won't know." Green said. "Unless we see Mew."
"See Mew?" Tom said. "You mean, we might get to see him?"
"Mew lives in the jungle!" Daisy said. "We'll never find him!" She pulled out a map. "Here's us!" She pointed. "And here's Mew!" She pointed far away."
"That is far..." Green said. "But if we all go together..."
"We're actually going?" Chris said. "This could be my chance to see all the pokemon ever!" He got out of his chair. "I don't know about you, but I'm with Green. I'm going to see Mew."
"I'll go." Toby stood up. "I'll prove that Pikachu is better!"
Mia, Daisy, and Tom stood up. "Anyone else?" Green looked around. "Fine then." He said. "I have already made plans with a jungle guide, and I have a pilot to take us there."
"You knew this would happen?" Chris asked, surprised.
"I had a hunch." Green smiled, and walked out the door.

The five members of the club landed in Veintown in the afternoon of the next day. There they would stay and the Ranger HQ for one night, before heading off into the jungle, north of Veintown. Tom and Mia said bye to their mothers, who had gone on the plane with them. Then they all took the bags and got off.
"Hello!" Said a man who ran over to them. "I'm Barlow, te HQ leader. I'll help you settle in." He took the little one's bags and motioned for the rest to follow. They went into the back room of the HQ, setting down their bags. Chris sat down on his bed. Daisy lay down in hers. Mia and Tom started jumping on theirs. Green turned to Barlow.
"I think we're fine for tonight." He said. "But I know you wanted to show us something?"
"Well, yeah." Said Barlow. "I knew you guys were looking for the best pokemon, so I could take you up in the forest to see some in the wild."
When Mia heard that, she jumped up and down, and off the bed, running up to Barlow. "Really?" She said. "Thank you, Mister, thank you!" She ran back to tell Tom, but he had heard. He was pulling things out of his bag to get ready. He took out a compass and a map. "Can we go now?" He asked, and Mia asked too. "Can we go now, Proffesor?"
Green smiled, looking at Barlow. "Sure!" Barlow said. "Let's go!"
Daisy stayed behind to sleep, and Chris was waiting for his pokemon to come in the mail, so just Green, Barlow, Mia, and Tom set out into the forest.
When they got there, the trees blocked out more of the sun. It got darker and darker. Soon they had to hold on to each other to not get lost.
"I'm sorry about this." Said Barlow. "We should have waited until morning."
"It's okay." Green said. "We should start heading back."
"..." Barlow was quiet.
"You mean we're lost?" Mia was scared. She tried to remember where they were before. "If we go right, then...oh, we are lost!"
"We are not lost..." Said Barlow. "This forest is pretty small. I know how to get around it." Then he slammed into a tree trunk. The noise was very loud.
"Shhhh..." A voice said. "Someone might be there!" At first they thought it was one of them, but they realized that it was someone else in the forest.
"No one is there, and you know that." Said another voice. "Now, let us talk. You spoke of a deal. What is it?"
"It could have been someone." Said the first one. "Now, yes, a deal. I'm a pokemon collector. I put pokemon in my garden to show the world. But I have all the pokemon now. Every one. Except Mew."
Mia gasped. Mew? They wanted Mew?
"I could get Mew." Said second guy. "But it will cost you."
"One million pokedollars."
"Then again..."
"Two."
"Deal. I will get Mew to you in two weeks."
"Okay, but if not..."
"If not, I will be dead."

It was the only Mew left. The other Mews had been caught, killed, or dissapeared. That's why Mew had to be careful.
Mew could talk, but it didn't. There was no one to talk to. It lived in a tree in the middle of the jungle, waiting. Waiting to find someone, someone to talk to. It wanted a home. A good home. Mew wanted to be happy.
Mew knew that people were coming. They would find him there. But would the people be good or bad? He didn't know. He was happy and sad at the same time. It would have to leave, but go where? It hoped it was a good place.
At the same time Proffesor Green was reading a book about Mew. The proffesor had read the book before, but he wanted to know all about Mew. He was sure it was the best pokemon, but they had to see it. They had to know.
But what about those people in the forest? They were looking for Mew too. Would they have to fight them? Would they get Mew first?
There was a knock at the door. Barlow came in. "Good, you are up." He said. "I guess I shouldn't have knocked."
"It's fine." Green smiled. "What do you need?"
"There's a guy at the door." Barlow said. "I think he has Chris' pokeballs." Chris woke up when he heard his name.
"Oh?" He walked over to Green and Barlow. "Do they need me to sign?"
"Yeah." Barlow and Chris walked up to the front door. Green sat back down to read.
"Mew used to be a common pokemon." The book said. "It was found in the forests and jungles all around. But it got smaller and smaller. Now there are only about 100 left in the wild."
"Mew was found and cloned into MewTwo, and possibly MewMany. MewTwo has been seen all over, and is an evil pokemon. MewMany was only seen once, in a jungle around Veintown. The person that saw it, Dr. Handprint, went back in to the jungle to see if he could find it again. He was never seen since."
"Red, a pokemon trainer of fame, saw Mew once on an island."
Green shut the book. "MewMany, I forgot about it. In the jungle off Veintown? But that means..."

"That will be it." The guy with the box said. He gave the box to Chris, who put it inside and came back to sign the form. He signed with a blue pen and gave it back to the guy. "Thank you." He said, and turned off into the night.
Right then there was a loud noise outside. Chris and Barlow jumped, but they needed to see what it was. The closed the door behind them and ran down the path.
There was a man, maybe 30, with blue hair and a black suit. He was pulling away from what looked like his wife, trying to get away.
"I'm telling you, hun!" He yelled at her. "I saw it out there!"
"Saw what?"
"Him! Palkia!"
"Palkia. Sure."
"Really! I have to go back there! In the jungle! I saw it!"
"Blue, what if it's not it? How will you get back?"
"It is it! I know it is! Let me go back!"
"No!"
Barlow stepped up. "Exscuse me." He said. "But I know some people who are going out into the jungle tomorrow. Would you go with them?"
"Could I?" Blue said to his wife. "Please?"
"Oh...Yes, I guess."
"I'll do it!" He said to Barlow.
"All right." Said Barlow. "Meet them...right here, at noon tomorrow."

"That means we might find a pokemon no one has seen before!" Green went to bed. Chris came in later, tired and ready for the next day.
