    Question Double Battle Strategies

Over the past month or so, I thought of some tactics for double battles. Now, I'm no battler (yet), so I'm not sure how well these ideas would work. This thread may be used to post and discuss double battle strategies.

Here's some of mine (format: [first PKMN's Attack, Type, or Ability], [second PKMN's Attack, Type, or Ability]

    1 Chlorophyll, Sunny Day/Drought
    2 Dry Skin, Rain Dance/Drizzle
    3 Flash Fire, Lava Plume
    4 (any Sweeper), Flower Gift
    5 Ice Body, Hail/Snow Warning
    6 Hydration, Rain Dance/Drizzle
    7 Leaf Guard, Sunny Day/Drought
    8 Levitate, Earthquake (duh)
    9 Water/Flying-type, Lightningrod
    10 Magic Guard, Protect/Detect
    11 Plus, Minus (another duh)
    12 Own Tempo, Teeter Dance
    13 Rain Dish, Rain Dance/Drizzle
    14 Sand Veil, Sandstorm/Sand Stream
    15 Snow Cloak, Hail/Snow Warning
    16 Fire/Ground/Rock-type, Storm Drain
    17 Swift Swim, Rain Dance/Drizzle
    18 Volt Absorb, Electric attack
    19 Water Absorb, Water attack

When explaining mine, post using the number.

    Here's one:
    Own Tempo/Swagger or Flatter

    Stat boost minus the confusion.

EDIT: Also, rest is a great way to use the hydration/rain dance combo.

EDIT 2: Specifically, discharge works well with 18, and surf likewise with 19.

Another potential one: Flash Fire/Fire attack, or Motor Drive/Electric attack.

    what about
    truant, skill swap?
you can also use skill swap again on an opponent for double the fun.

Belly Drum + Psych Up. ONe Pokemon uses Belly Drum and the other uses Psych Up to get the max ATK, but no HP lose on the Psych Up Pokemon.

I've also seen this done with substitute/Swagger or Flatter

One good one is Follow Me/ Sword Dance or Nasty Plot to set up a sweeper or baton passer

Togekiss can run Follow Me, psych up, then baton pass. Works great at protecting a belly drummer until it can rest. Less effective with new moves like Discharge and Lava Plume, but still a good strategy.

i see something thats up there, but could be a useful double team strategy as well

run a gengar with hypnosis/darkrai with dark void and have a Machamp with wake up slap.

vice versa with t-wave and smellingsalts
the dancing butterfly just 6-0d your team

How about No Guard+OHKO move or low accuracy move?

Sorry, but No Guard only effects moves Machamp uses and the moves targeting Machamp. Not all the pokemon out at the time.

I have heard of strategies that involve using skill swap to move No Guard onto a pokemon that has a OHKO move.

Unfortunatly, to my knowlege only the ever-adaptive Smergle can have Skill Swap and a OHKO move in the same moveset. To make this work with anyone else you need to pass No Guard off twice. Once to get it off Machamp, switch out Machamp, then pass NoGuard back to whoever you just brought in. This tends to be a bit too complicated to pull off in an actual match.

Yeah. I would think that when you used Skill Swap the first time your opponent would attack the pokemon that used it with both their pokemon next turn to prevent you from completing you strategy. Definitely not worth it,
