Lovely Smoochum
It was a perfect night on Mt. Moon. Three teenagers, Wes, Gail, and Lyn, were all on the mountain training their pokemon. The sky was clear and the air had the tiniest chill in it when the wind blew. The three had just finished setting up camp for the night after spending the long day training on the mountain.
Lyn finished setting up her sleeping bag, laid down on it, and started fawning over her Igglybuff, Iggy. Gail smirked when he saw that she was distracted and grabbed her bag.
“What do we have in here…” Gail said as he rummaged through the bag. He pulled out a magazine and opened it to a random page. “What pokemon are you most like…”
Wes came up behind Gail and looked at the magazine. “You know Lyn, you don’t need this magazine to tell you what pokemon you’re like. I can tell you right now that you’re just like a Happiny because you’re short, pink, and belong in a pokemon center,” Wes said with a smile. Lyn looked up at them with a puzzled look; then she glared at both when she saw they had gotten into her bag.
“Give it back! And say away from my stuff! You don’t see me going through your backpack,” Lyn said as she grabbed back her bag.
Gail smiled and dangled the magazine above her. “I have to agree with Wes, although I don’t think you’re anything like a Happiny.”
“I don’t care what either of you think. I trust the magazine more than either of you, and according to it I’m an Articuno,” Lyn said while striking a pose. “Graceful, beautiful, but with an icy cold demeanor.”
Wes and Gail both started laughing. Lyn glared at them and took back her magazine. “I think that’s wrong too…” Gail said with a grin. “I think you are like a Smoochum.”
“Smoochum. Mmmhmm… Whatever you say, Gabriel.”
“I mean it, Lynnette. Just think about it! The similarities are nearly endless…” Gail said; he then winked at Wes. Wes smiled back and went back to setting up his own sleeping bag. “You’re a flirt. I mean, come on Lyn, Smoochum is the kiss pokemon and smooch is in the name. It’s ice type.... We both know that you can be cold hearted when you wanna be. Oh! And it’s psychic type, which syncs perfectly with the fact that you are a total psycho chick. Don’t deny it Lyn, you know it’s all true.”
Lyn, completely shocked by what she was hearing, softly punched Gail in the arm. “You are silly. Completely, totally, one-hundred percent silly....”
Gail smiled and moved behind Lyn. “Wait, wait… Lets talk about moves. There are soooo many possibilities when it comes to moves you have in common with Smoochum.”
Lyn turned around and glared at Gail. “You…”
“Mean look, like the one you’re giving me right now… Sing. I’ve heard you, you siren you. Dream eater, since you are a self-proclaimed killjoy. Captivate, because you managed to do just that to everybody in class the first day you walked in the door. Attract… Not much needs to be said there, am I right Wes?”
“You got it.” Wes said while sitting down on his sleeping bag. He was more than happy to sit back and watch the show.
“If you know what’s right for you, then you will shut your mouth right now…” Lyn said while taking several steps towards Gail. She was blushing furiously and looking at the ground, hoping that the darkness would conceal her face.
“Oh, how could I forget about sweet kiss...” Gail said while moving some of Lyn’s hair from her face. “Any chance I can get one of those for myself? Or maybe you can show me your hidden power-"
With that remark Lyn pounced and pinned Gail to the ground. “You stop it right now before I tell Iggy to attack you!”
“Come on, you know it’s true. I can tell by the way you blush. Besides, you know that I don’t mean the bad stuff…”
From a few meters away, Wes yells, "Hey you two! Get a room!”
Silently, Lyn unpins Gail and goes back to her sleeping bag. Gail stays on the ground for a minute, grinning and plotting his next move.
“You know Wes, we both know that you’re jealous that I know how to make the ladies swoon,” Gail said as he went over and gave Wes a pat on the back. Near by, Lyn gave Iggy a big hug. “So how ‘bout it Lyn? When do I get that kiss?”
“Never. Iggy would get too jealous, I’m just trying to protect you.” Lyn said while giving Iggy another hug.
Wes rolled his eyes. “You know Gail, you have a great point. I think Smoochum have the ability oblivious, and Lyn has completely oblivious to your flirting since the day you met.”
“Too true… But some day I’ll break through…” Gail said with a sigh. Lyn rolled her eyes and went back to fawning over Iggy.
The three of them continued joking around and then retired for the night. Lyn spent that entire night pouring over everything that had happened between her and Gail. She realized that he really had been making an effort to make her notice, but she was too completely wrapped up in her own life to notice.
This event is for Smoochum. Smoochum is a baby pokemon that evolves into Jynx at level 30. Jynx is considered border-line in the current battle tier system. With the correct strategy, they can be real terrors in battle, but because of their low defense they tend to be hit-or-miss when utilized. Jynx can make for a great special wall and annoyer.
Abilities
Forewarn: Reveals the foe’s strongest move at the beginning of battle.
This ability can confirm something obvious, like Thunderbold on a Magnezone, and give you insight on the strategy your opponent has for the battle.
Oblivious: Smoochum cannot be attracted to the enemy
This ability makes the pokemon immune to attract and captivate. This ability is not very useful since neither attack is popular in competitive battles and both statuses are nullified upon switching out.
Move-Set Breakdown:
Psychic – Sp.Atk – 90 Power – 100% Accuracy – Psychic Type - STAB
Hidden Power – Sp.Atk – Base Power Varies Between 30 and 70 – 100% Accuracy – Type Varies
Substitute – Creates a decoy using Ľ of the user’s maximum HP.
Calm Mind – Raises your Special Attack and Special Defense one stage

Lovely Smoochum Item Contest
The first person to guess the name-theme of this event will win TM13 to go with their Smoochum. TM13 is Ice Beam. Ice Beam is an ice type special attack with 95 power and 100% accuracy. It is a STAB move for Jynx and Smoochum and can help round her out for competitive battles. The current theme is geography based, please PM or post your answers!
trudyl33 is this event's winner! Everybody bow down to her intellectual prowess. The name theme for this event was towns and cities in Minnesota.
